last night after being at church for 12 hours i got home...planned to have a shower and go to bed immediately.
well that all went out the window when i got home and the ARIAS were on. midnight oil were inducted into the hall of fame, silverchair performed and clare bowditch won best female. which was cool because she is amazing...i've been looking at reports of the night and the thing i keep reading about her is that she was little known, which is sort of annoying...hopefully she wont be after last night.
midnight oil...all i have to say is what a bunch of leg's they know where it is at.
after all that i went to bed to late and now i am very tired...so i'm wolfing down the wizz fizz that a student gave me earlier!
adios and good day to you!

Catherine Court
Catherine Court. A place i have hung my hat at for the past...mmm perhaps 7 months. it's close to the city, there are other cool people in the building who i enjoy bumping into and having a chat too. it's very affordable...if there are 2 people living in the flat. Adam is moving out. so i need to find another person, or pay double rent, or move out too. option one is most preferable.
but management are being difficult (as they often are) or maybe it's because it's not working out how i want it to work out that it is becoming increasingly frustrating.
any suggestions or perhaps friends who read this do you have someone that needs a place to hang their hat?

social work
it's been almost a year since i completed my social work degree. i haven't had a real social work job since then. i was starting to get desperate and wanting to work as a social worker more then ever.
last night i got a glimpse of hope. i'll back pedal a little bit to explain how i got to meet helen last night.
dad met diane (another social worker) earlier this year and she said for me to email her my resume. i did and she forwarded it on to her manager. didn't hear anything for a while and she said not to be concerned by that because the department is a slow process place...so her manager ended up emailing my resume to another helen and that's who i met last night.
she told me about a lot of jobs that are just about to hit the press...unfortunately most are more then part time which makes it difficult with the youth work job!anyway she told me about a part time job in waikerie at a community centre and it just sounds like an amazing job. grass roots community development working side by side with people that need it. i'm calling a lady today.

back to school
back to school today...i really can't fathom that it is the 4th term already. it's been a cool day. got to sing in chapel. wade in the water, give me oil in my lamp and lord i lift your name on high...which i struggled with cause it's quite high and becomes hard to sing after a while. got to film a "councelling session" for the year 12 video. it was quite funny. if posting photos and video footage ever worked for me i'd post it but alas poor yorik it doesn't. a couple of the students were having a bit of a dig about how they haven't got their year 12 jumpers yet...and it's coming into summer so they'll be really handy...mmm sarcasm
i think it's 37 sleeps til jek gets to adelaide and she'll be here for a whole month...woohooo

procrastinating...
procrastinating...a few simple ideas
1. CLEAN dishes, bathroom, bedrooms, toilets
2. eat...pretty self explanitary
3. check your email
4. write emails
5. pretend you are looking up books for your assignment when really you are writing emails
6. write a blog message
7. watch a movie
these are a few simple ideas. today i have accomplished... 1-6 and i technically didn't do 7 but i watched a couple of episodes of felicity...mmmm
yes it's that time again in the uni year where assignments are due. I'm currently doing one subject and even now i am procrastinating...one assignment to go...i mean 1 of 2 that is for the whole semester! mmm i definately got out of studying pretty quickly!
on another subject...my dad is the greatest! he changed my oil in my car on the weekend and he was concerned there was a leak and so he let me borrow his astra to go to the hills...which i didn't protest cause it goes really fast and has a cd player in it...alice (my car) has radio...the fm does work which is really good! and then when i got back yesterday to give him his car back...he'd washed alice, put a new indicator light in, got me a fuel cap with a lock on it (mine was an emergency one only) and then when i asked how much i owed him he said..."nah it's a gift". what a champ.
i went to a stand up gig last night. a fundraiser for make poverty history. meagan and i got there when the last band was starting so i missed the sun dance kids yet again...i hope i see them soon. i need to see what the fuss is about. i got an ep of theirs and the music is great, it would be nice to see them live though. it was a fun night. met some new people, saw some lutherans and got to bed late. and then got woken up early with brad and nathan leaving (mates from qld that have been here all for a week). they gave me a vegetarian cookbook to say thanks for having them...it was really sweet...i can't wait to use a recipe from it!
yeah so i think i've successfully sucked some minutes away...better get back to the task at hand...baptism...should we baptise kids, what's wrong with believers baptism and when should we refuse baptism...mmmm

can i help you?
sweet so i had another trial at the chocolate bean cafe today and it went pretty well! so well infact i have a shift next saturday night so i am STOKED!woohoo for me. the milk is going to be my nemesis BUT i think i'll get there with that. the girls i was working with today were so nice and patient with me and i had a fun time.
taste of chaos...well i could go on and on about this one! Underoath: favourite hands down closely followed by anti flag. and there was a really fun local all girls band, i think their name is blow up betty. really good old school punk and they rocked basically. i need to check out if they are playing any gigs locally because i would really like to see them again. taking back sunday were a big disapointment and well it wasn't exactly enjoyable with the drunk girl next to me. frankly i wanted to punch her in the face but i didn't. back to underoath though...they just played really well and man they were tight. just before they played their last song they made a tribute to Jesus Christ. they said they wouldn't be able to do what they were doing without him and that the band wasn't just the band members but Jesus on their sidetoo. It was SO COOL. i was moved to buy a tshirt. which made me poor but i have a new job now so it's all good!
BIG DAY OUT well i bought a ticket for adelaide and mum and dad got me one for gold coast...YESSSSS oh yes it's going to be a good summer...
so i am going to try and attach some photos so hopefully this time it will work!

the space vortex
i've been helping out at carclew the last 2 days and the theme of the artworkshops so far have been space. yesterday there were a couple of delightful boys in the group when were were doing painting. one who wished to be called sonic or shadow because they are characters from a game that he really likes. he was drawing a space vortex on his picture...man he was cool! we were discussing what was in the rings around saturn...apparently it's dust, dirt, ice and metors...yes you learn or relearn something new every day!
and today i learned that there is an equivelent to reverse garbage here in adelaide called "it's not garbage" so i look forward to going there and having alook. might have to wait until di is here so she can come with me!
today has been stinking hot here
that is all...

what a week!
hey hey!
it's been a while i am falling down in this blog already! ok so i just spent an amazing week at Christian Life Week. God was pretty busy this week. there was lots of fun and friendships made. people busting rhymes and beatboxing. I had the opportunity to meet some amazing young people and be involved in their spiritual journey. KUDOS to all of you. I did end up with a nasty cough and well it might stick around i hope it doesn't.
other cool news i have i trial at the chocolate bean tomorrow afternoon at 3pm. it's a cute chocolate cafe in union street which runs through grenfell and rundle streets in adelaide city! so i am pretty stoked about it.there are apparently alot of people trialing so whether or not actually get it is another thing! but i am excited at the prospect! and for you that know my love and passion for chocolate it's exciting!
two of my special mates from brisbane are in adelaide this weekend. Chey and Jooolie. Chey goes back tonight and i saw him for a about an hour on friday night at his mum's art opening. (it's in the gallery til the 15th october 23 Rosa Street Goodwood, if you have time between now and then check it out if you are in adelaide, SHE IS AMAZING!) anyway i was feeling particularly feral but geez it was rad to see chey again. he is such a champ and i really miss seeing him. so it was nice to briefly exchange information about how ours lives are going! i saw julie yesterday. sat on trav's couch for a few hours, while she recovered from the night before and me from being sick. you know you are sick when you walk up stairs and you are gasping for breath! i get to see her again tonight which is cool!
i had a bit of an apifany....mmm not sure on the spelling and i don't have a dictionary to check...tom asked me on camp if i am afraid sometimes of being the real loz...and i do and he told me not too..man that was not very articulate...i'll try again another day...i'm going to try and upload some pictures from camp...not sure how it will work..but if it does ENJOY
and good day to you.
