Have you ever seen this show? Arrested Development? I hated it the first few times I watched it. The characters irritated me big time. But for some reason I got sucked in...I think because my sisters were watching it and I couldn't escape. I ended up really enjoying it and there are some great quotes we pull out every now and then. It only had 3 seasons between 2003 and 2006 and they have been hinting at a movie for a LONG time. Well this past week they...I'm not sure who exactly...I just got a text from my sister telling me..so I guess she announced it that they were making a fourth season to lead up the movie...and the movie!! I'm rather excited about it!

grateful
It's been a few weeks since I have played along with gratefuls. I have so missed it...I had a couple of weeks when on Saturday I just couldn't get to the computer...and now we are in blogtoberfest...well I'm challenging myself to get to the computer! :)
Amongst a lot of things I am grateful for this week I am going to tell you about the following four!
1. The ladies I met with yesterday afternoon. We all have husby's who have started their "pastor prac" we met to see how each of us were going. It was really good. We have all had very different experiences so far. I am the only one out the 6 of us who don't have kids. I am also the only one who works full time (one other lady works close to it). So I have had a really different experience when it comes to that! It was really interesting to listen how most were finding not having their husby's at home as much they realised how much they were missing their home support. Tim's prac has been good so far, a couple of ups and downs but for the most part pretty smooth. We do see each other less but we are getting into a better flow...most of the time...
2. I'm grateful for being able to come and go as we please. We've had a hectic week, dinner here and there, a fabulous concert. Today we laid down for a half hour nap...that turned into 2 hours (hopefully I'll still be able to go to sleep tonight). Although I am REALLY looking forward to having chickadees (kids) one day our time isn't yet but as we wait for that time I am grateful for the time Tim and I have together.
3. Sister act marathons with lovely ladies for birthday celebrations...with hot chocolate and treats...enough said really!
4. THESE CUTIES
who are growing up SO FAST! And they are even bigger than this...the photos I was looking for...for some reason will not appear on the computer! But you get the point! They are pretty stinking cute!
check out more gratefuls back at home this week at Maxabella's!

frocktober...the first week...
Wow. SO this first week of Frocktober I have learnt I am a bit of a lazy dresser! By lazy I mean I go to the same things in my cupboard day after day, week after week...there is something probably deeper and psychological about that but I'm not going to go into that! :) I first noticed this on Wednesday when I was heading up to a camp for the day. The weather outside SUCKED! It was miserable, deary and misty. And it was a camp for teenagers as if I needed to be wearing a dress! Bit over the top. HA so I settled on a skirt and decided that counted...because heck who owns 31 dresses...and if you do that's incredible! Although after writing that I went and checked how many dresses and skirts I have...and I'm not going to have to double up too much!
Tim got sick of taking a photo of me every day...pretty quick I'll eventually perfect it by the end of the month!

Tonight I'm going out with some lady friends to listen to the musical talents of this...well talented and let's be honest... handsome man. I've been very much looking forward to it. Especially after hearing this song a while back.

wednesday
I've been at a camp the past couple of days supporting a young person as they lead an art elective.
It was a lot of fun!
And the finished product was really beautiful and was able to be admired and appreciated by many people.

today
I went to a funeral today, of a man who has lovingly played the organ at the church I work at for the last...63 years. Incredible right. It was a bit of a shock to find out he'd passed away. But the story I want to tell is about the young boy he was teaching the organ to. Nikolai got up at the service today...I'm going to try and remember a little of what he shared. Nikolai and Don met at Easter this year at an Easter service. They were introduced by another guy from church and Don had asked how tall Nikolai was. Apparently he was not to short and not to tall to start learning the organ, just the right height! Nikolai reminisced on their first lesson where Don told him all about the organ, the different parts, how to look after it. Might not sound like a lot of fun to average Joe but for someone who loves music and was so happy to share all his knowledge on somewhat of a dying art form it was a wonderful time shared.
It was a wonderful tribute to his teacher. His teacher for only a short while but one Nikolai learnt a lot from and really valued. It bought a tear to my eye.

chelsea is having a baby
A lovely lady I met a number of years ago. She lived in the same apartment block I did. We've been in touch on and off over the last little while. In January Chelsea and Finn got married...and now they are expecting their first little bubba...in 6 weeks. As it happens we have quite a number of mutual friends (as in I know a number of her cousins who were there today! :) It was wonderful to celebrate with her, play some fun games and ooh and ahh over all the presents she got...well most of them were for the baby!
and there were heaps of food! including these REALLY cute little cars! Which would be super easy to make for another party...or heck just because! It was a lovely afternoon.

happy birthday little blog
This little blog turns 5 today! what the?
It feels like I was wishing it a happy 4th birthday just the other week!
I started off as a pretty dodgy blogger...but heck 5 years ago I didn't know about half the blogs I read today! It has become something I really enjoy. I've been involved in swaps, seen what my mates and friends who live far away are up to and in a way kept a semi regular journal of what has happened for the last 5 years...some times have been more detailed than others. I've also been able to read and be inspired by many lovely people out there.
So happy birthday little blog!

a wedding, a baby shower and a caravan
I've just been to Bundaberg. It's been 3 years since I was last there and gosh it was good to visit. (my family and I lived there, I finished high school there) Perhaps it was so good because of the reason I was going! We were invited to a wedding of some very dear friends. 5 years ago I was in the groom's older sister's wedding. That was a bit of a mouthful! I had been hearing about the lovely bride for ages and finally met her the day before the wedding. She's just lovely.
It was a wonderful ceremony, my dad took it!
Dez looking a bit shell shocked after! :) they were a lovely couple! The reception was lovely, food, drink and DANCING! And catching up with other dear friends, hearing about what people have been up to the past few years. I am vowing to make sure it's not so long between drinks.
When I turned 18 I went out a fair bit to a certain local pub. My youngest sisters have since turned 18 and were dying to go check it out. So a few of us went out after the reception. That was the latest night I've had in a while and the wine did seem to creep up on us a bit but we had a ball carving it up on the dance floor!
When the wedding was said and done and the bride and groom were off on their honeymoon we moved to the next cause of celebration...a baby in a belly! (Sez is the big sister of the groom I was talking about just before!) She's a good egg! And now she's growing a little bubba!
We played games, we gave presents. Dakoda helped paint a onesie for his cousin!
some people were a bit rusty on their celebrity heads rules...Courtney was a little confused!
we all got our creative sides out and made a wardrobe of VERY cute onsies for Sez and Chris' baby that is due in Feb!
This is Dakoda and Kelly...Dakoda is a very cute little boy...and Kelly is a very dear friend!
So the title talks about a caravan...there were quite a few guests at the grooms parents house...my family of 6 being some of them so me and my sisters were in a caravan which was fun...but alas I forgot to take a photo of that!
It was such a special time being in Bundaberg being able to celebrate with Tammy and Derek. I hope it's not too long before we get to hang out!
